BIOIVT'S DONOR DISTINCTION

CHARACTERIZED AND RELIABLY RECALLABLE DONORS FOR YOUR SPECIMEN COLLECTIONS

Access to a diverse pool of recallable donors is critical to the development of any drug, device or assay. That’s why donor outreach,
recruitment and screening are top priorities at BioIVT. With our global network of donor centers and collection sites, we are ready to scale
with your research needs.

DONOR SAFETY

All our biospecimen products are donor consented and collected using protocols approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Under these protocols, donors are given a questionnaire and undergo a screening to ensure they are healthy enough to donate. In the event of a failed screening or other unforeseen issue, secondary donors are available as substitutes.

Each collection site has a medical director and a staff of trained phlebotomists, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses (RNs) and/or emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Principal investigators at each donor center are trained in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Human Research Protections (HRP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

DONOR ACCESS

BioIVT has 11 donor centers and 425 clinical sites globally. Donor centers are strategically located near major biotechnology hubs. Customers within a 200-mile radius of our centers enjoy access to fresh, same-day biospecimens. Donor access at these locations means ample parking, public transportation options and flexible hours. By making our centers accessible and comfortable, we encourage new donors to come in, and existing donors to return.

Donor Recallability

While not all donors are eligible for recall, BioIVT carefully establishes and maintains donor relationships, ensuring their safety and satisfaction throughout the process. With our network of 11 donor centers and over 600 recallable HLA-typed donors, we are able to process over 30,000 donor collections a year.

Donor recallability is also dependent on deferral periods dictated by prior donations, as outlined here:

Biospecimen Collected Deferral Period
Normal LEUKOMAX Leukopak – Full Pack Every 28 days
Normal LEUKOMAX Leukopak – Half/Quarter Pack Every 14 days
Mobilized LEUKOMAX Leukopak Once per year, twice in a lifetime
Fresh Whole Blood Dependent on volume
Normal, Autoimmune or Infectious Disease Bone Marrow 30 days, dependent on medical exam clearance
All Other Biospecimens None

Donor Characterization

Biospecimens are often only as valuable as their associated data. That’s why BioIVT offers industry-standard and next-level characterizations, including:

  • Birth Gender
  • Age
  • Race/Ethnicity (self-reported)
  • Smoking Status (self-reported)
  • BMI
  • Blood Type
  • HLA Type (up to 6-digit characterization)
  • Fc Receptor Genotype
  • CMV IgG Serology

As HLA typing is critical to the development of advanced therapeutics, our donor pool has a wide breadth of HLA types per allele, including:
